The Iron County Medical Care Facility (ICMCF) seeks part-time Dietary Aides/Café Aides/Cooks to join their team in Crystal Falls, Michigan.

This position works in a professional kitchen environment and requires an ability to take direction and be flexible to cover kitchen duties which include working as a dietary aide, café aide or cook as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL DO. 

• Prepare and assist with meal preparation according to menu plans, recipes, therapeutic needs, and eating schedules; obtain food and required supplies.
• Serve meals in accordance with quantity specifications.
• Assist in ordering, checking, and storage of supplies.
• Assist in loading food carts and washing dishes.
• Maintains cleanliness of café and dining room.
• Work with a cash register and handling money when working as Café Aide.
• Prepare items to be purchased in the café.
• Participate in in-service programs, as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 18 years of age or older required.
• 2 years’ experience working in a restaurant, dietary department, or with quantity food preparation including at least 1 year as a cook preferred.
• Experience with cooking and/or food preparation in a healthcare setting a bonus.
• Experience working with a cash register and handling cash helpful.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust and competence amongst peers and geriatric patients.
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to physically and mentally carry out the functions of this position which includes working in a kitchen environment with exposure to hot and cold temperatures and standing for extended periods of time.
