Tart Lumber Company, Inc., a full-service lumber and building material company complete with a contractor’s hardware store, design showroom, and a custom mill shop seeks a full-time Customer Service/Inside Sales Associate in Sterling, Virginia. • This is a full-time position working onsite Monday – Friday from 7a.m. – 4p.m. and one half-day every third Saturday from 10a.m. – 2p.m.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Assist contractors and clients with the purchase of building materials and hardware.
• Genuinely care about customers and be willing to go out of your way to make their experience a positive one.
• Place special orders for specialty lumber, millwork, doors, and windows.
• Stay on-top of industry trends to further develop and increase your product and industry knowledge.
• Train alongside and provide support to current staff; be coached for excellence in your position.
• Work with our dispatch team to make sure that your client’s orders are quickly delivered.
• Flexibility to work with other team members in a variety of tasks as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• Building material sales experience preferred. In lieu of experience, we will train someone that is highly motivated and eager to learn.
• You are service oriented, customer focused, and enjoy building relationships.
• Knowledge or experience with construction and/or remodeling is beneficial.
• Ability to read and take measurements using a tape measure required.
• Skills and confidence in performing mathematical calculations.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, email, calendar) required.
• Someone ethical, dependable, organized, and able to work well individually and as a team member.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be honest, prompt, dependable, and a good communicator.
