Shawsheen seeks a motivated Quality Control Lab Manager to join our dynamic team in Andover, Massachusetts. As Quality Control Lab Manager, you will oversee daily operations of the QC/R&D lab, including supervising and training lab techs, ensuring timely testing and documentation, managing lab supplies, calibrations, and equipment, and supporting GMP compliance and audits.

 WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Provide daily supervision of the QC/R&D lab techs and testing.
• Order supplies and machine maintenance as needed.
• Ensure lab samples are collected from the factory in timely manner.
• Ensure all specified raw material, in-process and finished goods tests are performed and documented.
• Maintain documentation related to QC lab including SDS files, protocols and procedure books, etc.
• Report on nonconforming test results to Director and conduct Quality Investigations (Operations issues, customer complaints) as needed.
• Own quality calibrations: schedule vendors, orchestrate calibrations, record data in IQMS.
• Assist Quality Director in test evaluation of complaints.
• Complete projects as assigned by Director.
• Ensure GMP floor inspections and audits are carried out.
• Provide support to Lead Lab Tech to be sure GMP training is given to company employees.
• Write and update standard operating procedures under the direction of the Quality Director.
• Fill in as QC/R&D Tech as needed.

SCHEDULE This is a full-time position working Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a QC or laboratory setting preferred.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or management role required.
• Familiarity with R&D processes and quality systems.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrument calibration, and analytical methods.
• Proficient in using IQMS or similar quality management/documentation systems.
• Understanding of SOP writing and revisions, SDS management, and specification documents.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
