The Catholic Diocese of Marquette seeks a full-time Vocations Assistant to join their team at St. Albert the Great in Houghton, MI. As a Vocations Assistant, you will provide essential leadership and support in fundraising, communications, and administration within the Vocations Office.

The ideal candidate for this position conducts themselves with a high degree of responsibility and confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• General Vocations communications/management including capturing photographs, social media/email management, writing articles for the diocesan newspaper and compiling newsletters.
• Coordinating, attending, photographing, and documenting events, as well as interviewing attendees for articles.
• Support and manage fundraising efforts to sustain and grow the Vocations department.
• Conduct standard bookkeeping and budgetary processes.
• Organize efforts to maximize relationships between departments within the Diocese of Marquette.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, communications or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in business communications preferred. 
• Experience in both photography and article writing, with the ability to produce compelling visual and written content for a variety of platforms.
• Must be willing to serve the mission of the Catholic Church.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Familiar with database management.
• Must maintain a high level of office confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
