The Copper Country Intermediate School District (CCISD) seeks a Regional School Health Coordinator to join their team in Hancock, Michigan. In this role, you’ll work alongside dedicated educators and community partners to promote the physical, mental, behavioral, social and emotional well-being of students throughout our region. From using the Michigan Model for Health™ to supporting local districts with training, coaching, and consultation, you’ll be a driving force in making schools safer, healthier, and more supportive for every child.
WHAT WE OFFER.
- $52,000 or more annual starting salary for someone with a Bachelor’s degree.
- $56,000 or more annual starting salary for someone with a Master’s degree.
- Health insurance (or if health insurance is not needed, $643.19 per month cash stipend.)

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Champion the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) approach to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed—academically and personally.
- Provide professional development, training and support to educators on school health curriculum and practices such as the Michigan Model for Health™, HIV Certification and Sex Education Trainings, and other health-promoting curricula.
- Lead key health and wellness initiatives like Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA), Caring 4 Students (C4S), and ISD-wide crisis response efforts.
- Collaborate with schools, families, and community partners to strengthen networks and align services.
- Oversee grant compliance, reporting, and budgeting to support school health programming.
- Support the integration of trauma-informed practices, mental health services, social-emotional learning, and Multi-Tiered System of Support frameworks across districts.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- A valid Michigan teaching certificate required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of successful teaching experience preferred.
- A driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally for work (including overnight stays).
- Experience leading and delivering engaging professional learning for educators.
- A passion for childhood health, nutrition, fitness, and emotional well-being.
- Knowledge of mental health supports, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed education.
- Experience with data collection and using insights to improve programs.
- Grant writing and budget management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- A flexible, team-oriented mindset with a knack for balancing many moving parts.
