Houghton Building Supply is looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and people-friendly to take charge of our growing rental department as an Equipment Rental Manager in Houghton, Michigan.

You’ll get to work with great people, learn new skills, and play an important role in helping contractors, homeowners, and businesses get the tools they need.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• $20.00 – $27.00 per hour starting pay based on experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

You’ll be the go-to person for keeping our rental operations running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for:

• Overseeing day-to-day rental operations and scheduling.
• Using our Quipli rental software (we’ll train you) for managing inventory, pricing, and bookings.
• Ensuring rental equipment is maintained and ready to go.
• Communicating with customers and handling check-ins/outs.
• Confirming contracts are signed and insurance is in place.
• Coordinating tasks for yard staff and delivery drivers.
• Keeping records and rental brochures up to date.
• Lending a hand at the front counter or on the phone when needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• You’re friendly, dependable, and love working with people.
• You’ve got strong attention to detail and can juggle multiple tasks.
• You’re comfortable working outdoors and don’t mind getting your hands dirty.
• You can lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs safely (with assistance).
• You have some knowledge of equipment operations and loading/unloading.
• You’re good with Microsoft Word and Excel and learning new technology is a breeze for you.
• Bonus if you have a Chauffeur’s License or experience with Epicor retail software.
