Pettibone is hiring a Procurement Analyst to support purchasing, supplier performance, inventory planning, and cost control for their manufacturing operation in Baraga, Michigan.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with data, suppliers, internal teams, and the moving pieces that keep parts, materials, and production on track. You help make sure the right materials arrive at the right time, at the right cost, from the right suppliers. No pressure, right? Just kidding. There is some pressure—but the good kind if you like a fast-moving, problem-solving kind of role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO.

• Manage supplier relationships to support quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
• Review system messages and place purchase orders accurately and on time.
• Plan assigned commodities at the SKU level with input from production, inventory, engineering, and other teams.
• Monitor inventory levels to support continuous production while improving inventory turns.
• Track supplier performance, on-time delivery, shortages, purchase price variance, and other key metrics.
• Follow up on delayed parts, shortages, pricing questions, and order issues before they become bigger problems.
• Negotiate material pricing and help offset supplier cost increases.
• Review shipment options; look for smart ways to consolidate freight and improve transportation routes.
• Learn assigned commodities and supplier capabilities so you can make stronger purchasing decisions.
• Participate in product development, value engineering, and continuous improvement projects with suppliers and internal teams.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.

• 1 or more years of experience in a supply chain or purchasing position required; manufacturing experience preferred.
• High school diploma required; a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with planning, scheduling, inventory control, or Lean Manufacturing helpful.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and purchasing or inventory software; MRP system experience is helpful.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build good working relationships with suppliers, production teams, engineering, and other internal partners.
• A continuous improvement mindset, strong follow-through, and a can-do attitude.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, research issues, use resources wisely, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• A self-starting work style with curiosity, accountability, and a high activity level.
• Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel, as needed.
