Pettibone

Pettibone is hiring a Procurement Analyst to join their Aftermarket team in Baraga, Michigan.

This position helps answer an important question: What parts should Pettibone have available when customers need them? You’ll dig into aftermarket sales history, usage patterns, inventory levels, supplier options, and older parts to help determine what Pettibone should stock—and where it can find those parts at the right cost. It’s a great role for someone who likes working with data but doesn’t want to spend the entire day staring at spreadsheets. You’ll also work with suppliers, request quotes, research alternate sources, and solve those occasional “Where in the world are we going to find this part?” challenges.

WHAT WE OFFER.

  • $55,000 – $75,000 annual salary based on your experience and qualifications.
  • Medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage (employee and family plans available).
  • Health Savings Account and Flex Spending Account.
  • Company paid short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with up to 4% company match.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays, and volunteer time—just to name a few).
  • Full-time Monday – Friday position (8am-4:30pm).
  • Great onboarding and training program combined with a team-oriented, fun work environment.

WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE.

  • Analyze aftermarket demand. Review sales history, usage trends, inventory activity, lead times, and other data to determine which service and replacement parts Pettibone should stock.
  • Plan inventory. Help establish and maintain appropriate stocking levels so commonly needed parts are available without carrying unnecessary inventory.
  • Research older and difficult-to-source parts. Investigate legacy, slow-moving, obsolete, and hard-to-find items and determine the best purchasing approach.
  • Find alternate sources. Research new suppliers and replacement sourcing options when an existing supplier, part, or purchasing channel is no longer practical.
  • Request and evaluate quotes. Prepare RFQs, compare supplier pricing, availability, lead times, minimum quantities, and other purchasing considerations.
  • Place and manage purchase orders. Review system requirements and issue purchase orders accurately and on time.
  • Work with suppliers. Build supplier relationships while addressing pricing, availability, shortages, delivery concerns, and other issues.
  • Monitor inventory performance. Look for opportunities to improve availability, inventory turns, purchasing decisions, and overall aftermarket service levels.
  • Control costs. Negotiate pricing, evaluate purchase price differences, and look for opportunities to reduce material and freight costs.
  • Solve problems. Research part history, supplier capabilities, purchasing records, and available alternatives when straightforward answers aren’t available.
  • Work across teams. Partner with Aftermarket, Engineering, Inventory, Operations, and other Pettibone teams to keep service parts moving to the customers who need them.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.

  • 1 or more years of experience in a supply chain or purchasing position required; manufacturing or aftermarket experience preferred.
  • High school diploma required; a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with planning, scheduling, inventory control, or Lean Manufacturing helpful.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with suppliers, production teams, engineering, and other internal partners.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, strong follow-through, and a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, research issues, use resources wisely, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-starting work style with curiosity, accountability, and a high activity level.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel, as needed.
