Maple Valley Eye Care is seeking a Patient Coordinator to join our team in Maple Valley, WA.

In this role, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for our patients, with a primary focus on answering phones, scheduling appointments, assisting with patient questions, and supporting day-to-day administrative needs. You’ll also occasionally help our clinical team by rooming patients and assisting with basic patient-care tasks.

If you’re friendly, organized, comfortable on the phone, and enjoy helping people, we’d love to meet you. Previous healthcare or eye care experience is a plus, but we’re willing to train the right person!

WHAT WE OFFER

  • $19.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Occasional Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve as the primary person answering incoming phone calls and provide friendly, professional assistance to patients.
  • Answer patient questions, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate team member when needed.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments while helping keep the clinic calendar organized.
  • Assist patients with general questions about appointments, services, insurance, and next steps.
  • Welcome patients and provide additional front desk support, including check-in and check-out, as needed.
  • Verify and update patient information and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with insurance verification, payments, and other routine front-office responsibilities.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, faxing, scanning, and responding to patient communications.
  • Room patients and assist with basic clinical or pre-exam tasks as trained and needed.
  • Help maintain smooth patient flow by communicating with the front desk, optometric, and optical teams.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Pitch in wherever needed to help create a welcoming, organized, and efficient experience for our patients.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in an optometric, ophthalmologic, or medical office preferred.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist, administrative, customer service, or patient-facing role is preferred.
  • Friendly and professional phone presence with the ability to make patients feel heard and cared for.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized while managing phone calls, patients, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Comfortable learning new systems, processes, and basic patient-care tasks.
  • Positive, dependable, and willing to help wherever needed.
