Signature Research, Inc. seeks an experienced Assembler/Fabricator to join their team in Calumet, Michigan.
If you like working with your hands, enjoy figuring out how parts and systems go together, and take pride in building things the right way, this could be a great fit. We’re looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable in a shop environment, and enjoys a mix of assembly, fabrication, and hands-on problem solving.
This role is a good match for someone who can read drawings or CAD models, work with a variety of tools and equipment, and help turn complex components into finished products that are built with care and precision.
WHAT WE OFFER.
- $22 – $30 per hour starting pay based on your knowledge and experience.

- Five weeks of paid vacation plus sick time and holidays.
- Full-time, Monday – Friday position generally working 8am – 4pm.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Read and interpret CAD models and/or drawings to assemble complex components accurately.
- Use a wide range of shop tools and equipment including automotive hand tools, power tools, drill press, metal brakes, and manual mill.
- Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical components with attention to fit, function, and quality.
- Assist with hydraulic plumbing and connection methods as part of the assembly process.
- Work with electrical wiring diagrams, gear systems, and motor connections as needed.
- Support fabrication and modification work to help components come together correctly.
- Perform welding on steel and aluminum using MIG/TIG methods when needed, if qualified.
- Work closely with teammates to keep projects moving and deliver high-quality finished work.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Ability to read CAD models and/or drawings and turn them into accurately assembled components.
- Comfortable using common shop equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic system plumbing and connection methods.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical hardware (wiring diagrams, gear systems, motor connections.)
- Welding experience with steel and aluminum using MIG/TIG is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as part of normal job duties.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and pride in your craft.
- U.S. citizenship required, along with the ability to obtain (and maintain) a security clearance. Don’t have clearance? No problem—we’ll help you through the process.
