Shawsheen Coating and Converting seeks a detail-oriented and reliable Coating Operator to join their team in Andover, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used to apply specialized coatings to fabric and film substrates. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality in a manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do.

• Machine Setup: Prepare coating lines by installing rollers, setting blade gaps, and adjusting tension controls according to specific job orders.
• Production Oversight: Monitor the coating process to ensure uniform application, identifying and correcting defects in real-time.
• Material Management: Safely handle and mix chemicals, adhesives, or resins required for the coating process.
• Quality Control: Perform regular inspections of finished products to ensure they meet thickness, weight, and adhesion specifications.
• Maintenance: Conduct routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on coating equipment to minimize downtime.
• Safety & Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs and strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE.

• Shawsheen offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $20–$26 per hour (DOE)
• Full-time schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

• QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role preferred (coating, laminating, or web handling experience is a strong plus).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting abilities.
• Basic math skills for measuring, mixing, and completing production documentation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
