Goldsboro Builders Supply seeks a Director of Growth & Sales to join their Executive Team headquartered in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

This key position will drive revenue company-wide across sales and marketing with overall responsibility for charting the course, developing the vision, and implementing plans to grow company sales, increase market share, and expand the company’s brand recognition. This position reports to the company President. The ideal candidate is well versed in the lumber and building material industry. To be successful requires someone who is a results-driven relationship builder able to develop, lead and align a team for greatness.


  • $175,000 – $200,000 annual starting salary based on your knowledge and experience.

  • Develop and implement annual sales/marketing plans, team structure, and performance reporting.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual sales budgets.
  • Establish metrics, report on, and hold sales team accountable to performance benchmarks.
  • Coach, mentor and develop sales and marketing support staff in multiple locations (35-40 people).
  • Collaborate with executive team to ensure operational capabilities, priorities, product offerings, vendor programs, recruiting and training programs are aligned with sales and marketing strategies.
  • Research market needs; identify new market solutions and opportunities.
  • Monitor and research competition to identify possible opportunities.
  • Network/grow industry relationships.
  • Identify systems and infrastructure required to support the sales team.
  • Support key accounts by developing and closing on strategic opportunities.


  • 7 or more years’ experience in growth or sales management required.
  • Sales leadership experience in the lumber and building material industry preferred.
  • Experience leading a sales team highly preferred. This position will oversee a team of 35-40 people in multiple locations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a discipline that allows you to successfully execute sales and marketing strategies
  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing strategies in B2B and B2C preferred.
  • Direct experience with financial analysis, developing KPIs, and leading through change required.
  • Executive-level presentation skills and ability to handle high-level client interactions required.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills able to dialogue with all levels of an organization.
  • A leadership style that encourages, mentors, and motivates others to achieve greatness.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to other company locations, tradeshows, events, and meetings is required.
