Jacquart Fabric Products, home of the iconic Stormy Kromer brand, seeks a Director of Operations to join their leadership team in Ironwood, Michigan.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Oversee all operational activities of the plant including manufacturing, logistics and distribution.
• Drive and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
• Continuously improve quality of products to meet set standards and customer requirements.
• Manage team performance while ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Control expenditures; identify and manage capital requirements within a set budget.
• Preparing production and performance reports for leadership.
• Build effective working relationships with stakeholders.
• Assist in training, mentoring, recruiting and driving team engagement.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive plant maintenance program.
• Maintain administrative records, inventory levels, and control flow of product.
• Work closely with internal teams to control costs and ensure excellent customer service at all times.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• 5 or more years’ experience managing plant operations required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Management, Industrial Engineering or other related discipline, or equivalent combination education and experience preferred.
• Supervisory/management experience in manufacturing preferred; this position oversees 8 direct reports.
• Strong knowledge of production and lean/continuous improvement manufacturing practice preferred.
• Proficiency with computers including ERP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Develop/maintain working understanding of manufacturing, production and quality operations.
• Understanding of production planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent time management, organization and communication skills.
• Ability to lead staff and serve as a mentor to achieve and maintain a productive work group.
• Skills in analyzing production needs, developing short and long-term schedules, and following through with performance requirements.
• Experience in reducing cost of poor quality and cost of goods sold through manufacturing innovation.
