Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly seeks an outgoing and well-spoken leader to join their team as Donor Relations Manager in Hancock, Michigan.

The Donor Relations Manager is a key position overseeing all aspects of the Development Program—-relationship building, donor stewardship, donor communications and publications, direct mail appeals and special events. This position works alongside the Executive Director. The ideal candidate has very strong storytelling and writing skills, is comfortable speaking with the community in a variety of settings, is detail oriented, and has experience in donor cultivation and fundraising.


  • $20.00 – $23.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Health insurance.
  • Paid holidays, paid vacation, and paid sick time.
  • Full-time Monday-Friday position 8:30am-5pm.
  • Some schedule flexibility and remote work options available.


  • Engage donors through written and verbal communication.
  • Establish and maintain a major giving program.
  • Coordinate fundraising events.
  • Design, produce, print, and mail five Direct Appeal Mailings each year.
  • Design, produce, print, and mail written materials for donor communication.
  • Analyze donor trends and giving patterns.
  • Prepare donation reports.
  • Process, record, and deposit donations.
  • Train, coordinate and schedule volunteers.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to be successful in this position.

  • Exceptional communication skills able to prepare, present, and distill information effectively for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong relational skills that work well both independently and collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use office printing equipment required (Word, Excel, Publisher, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn CRM, database programs and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed.
