Shawsheen Coating and Converting seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Coordinator to join their team in Andover, MA. While the ideal candidate will be well-versed in general health and safety programs, this role carries significant environmental and regulatory focus. You will serve as the primary company representative for regulatory agencies and be responsible for the full lifecycle of environmental permitting, safety auditing, and industrial hygiene.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the company’s environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste (RCRA) handling, transportation, and reporting.
• Prepare and submit required federal filings such as EPCRA/SARA Title III Form R, SPCC plans, and SWPP permits, including sampling requirements.
• Maintain air operating permits and oversee environmental compliance related to emissions and energy use.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including TURA filings, Toxic Use Reduction Plans, and wastewater discharge permits (POTW).
• Coordinate with local authorities (Fire Department, City Hall) regarding flammable storage permits, propane storage, and Tier II reporting.
• Implement and maintain workplace safety programs in compliance with OSHA regulations, including Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Fall Protection.
• Conduct internal EHS audits and inspections and track corrective actions to improve safety and compliance.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide safety and environmental training for employees.
• Oversee industrial hygiene programs, including air sampling, hearing conservation, bloodborne pathogen programs, and employee health monitoring.
• Support risk management initiatives including workers’ compensation coordination, workplace safety assessments, and advising leadership on EHS regulations and compliance.

SALARY Shawsheen puts great value in the Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator position by offering a competitive annual salary of $55,000-$75,000 commensurate with knowledge and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Environmental, Health, and Safety related field (Engineering or Chemistry acceptable) required. 
• 3+ years of experience developing or maintaining EHS programs for manufacturing, chemical, or consumer products in a manufacturing environment required.
• Strong working knowledge of RCRA, EPCRA, SARA Title III, ISO and OSHA 1910 standards.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.
• Proven experience corresponding with EPA, DEP, OSHA, and local fire departments.
• Must be motivated, outgoing, and able to maintain positive interactions with individuals in all roles, from the plant floor to senior leadership.
• Experience with REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals is a plus.
