TriMedia Environmental & Engineering Services, LLC is seeking a Field Surveyor for a long-term project assignment in the Duluth, MN/Superior, WI area. Candidates throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the greater Midwest who are open to project-based travel are encouraged to apply.
This position is expected to begin with a dedicated field assignment in the Duluth, MN/Superior, WI area, anticipated to last up to approximately 18 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. This near-term assignment offers the benefit of working from a consistent project location while performing hands-on field surveying, collecting accurate project data, operating specialized equipment, and helping safely locate and document underground utilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of hands-on surveying experience
- Experience using GPS/GNSS, total stations, or other surveying equipment preferred
- Experience with construction staking, field layout, as-built surveys, or similar field surveying work preferred
- Utility-locating, GIS, mapping, construction, engineering support, or infrastructure experience is a plus
- Degree or technical training in Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, GIS, Geomatics, Construction Technology, or a related field is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in changing weather, terrain, and job-site conditions
- Ability and willingness to travel for future project assignments, primarily throughout the Midwest region, following the initial Duluth/Superior assignment
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and commitment to safety
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Paid time off and company-recognized holidays
- Medical, life, disability, and supplemental insurance
- Retirement plan with company match
- Corporate wellness program
- Educational assistance and professional-development assistance
- Opportunities for advancement and technical growth
TRAVEL BENEFITS:
For qualifying project assignments, TriMedia provides:
- Per diem for assignments more than 65 miles from home
- Company vehicle for project-related travel
- Paid travel time in most situations
- Additional lodging reimbursement may be available when costs exceed standard GSA rates
- Opportunities to return home between workweeks depending on project schedule and distance
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform construction staking, field layout, and as-built surveys
- Collect accurate field data using GPS/GNSS and surveying instruments
- Locate underground utilities using electronic locating equipment
- Operate and maintain survey, locating, and field-data equipment
- Review completed fieldwork for accuracy and quality
- Communicate with project managers, field crews, clients, and project partners
- Work safely around construction sites, utilities, and heavy equipment
- Follow company, client, and project-specific safety requirements
