Copper Country Community Mental Health is hiring an Acute Services Program Manager to lead their Acute Services Department in Houghton, Michigan.
This is a meaningful leadership opportunity for a strong clinical professional who can stay calm under pressure, make sound decisions, and guide a team through urgent behavioral health situations. In this role, you will help lead critical services by supporting timely assessments, thoughtful coordination, and quality care, while working closely with staff and community partners to ensure individuals in crisis receive the support they need when it matters most.
WHAT WE OFFER.
- $68,114 – $84,815 annual starting salary based on experience.

- Full-time Monday – Friday position generally working 8am – 5pm. No on-call responsibilities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Supervise the daily operations of the Acute Services Department.
- Lead and support staff providing assessments and crisis intervention services.
- Oversee admission and discharge planning related to hospitalizations.
- Make independent clinical decisions in urgent and time-sensitive situations.
- Provide direction, support, and accountability to team members.
- Work closely with local hospitals, law enforcement agencies, the court system, and other service providers.
- Help maintain high-quality, responsive services for individuals experiencing a mental health emergency.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Licensure in Michigan as one of the following: Master’s Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Psychologist. Limited Licensed Master’s professionals, Licensed Bachelor’s Social Workers and Registered Nurses may also be considered for this position.
- Must have significant clinical and supervisory experience.
- At least one year of experience providing initial evaluations and acute services is required.
- Strong independent clinical decision-making skills.
- The ability to collaborate professionally with hospitals, law enforcement, the courts, and other providers.
- A calm, organized, and confident leadership style.
