Davis Village Solutions, a product development and manufacturing company, seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team onsite in Baraga, Michigan.

In this position, you will lead the design, development, and production transition of trailer components and systems used in hardworking equipment built for demanding jobs. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys taking an idea from concept to production and working closely with manufacturing to create practical, high-quality solutions.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• $85,000 – $100,000 annual starting salary based on knowledge and experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO.

• Design, develop, and modify mechanical components and systems for trailer applications.
• Perform load, stress, and related engineering analyses to validate design performance.
• Create and execute test plans for new and revised designs.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and high quality.
• Troubleshoot design, testing, and production issues and help drive effective solutions.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in product performance, durability, and manufacturability.
• Travel occasionally, up to 10% within the United States, as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.

• Technically strong, detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer who enjoys problem-solving, hands-on application, and working collaboratively across design and production.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering degrees with directly relevant design and manufacturing experience required.
• 5 or more years of mechanical engineering experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks required.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and CAE tools required.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally, up to 10% within the U.S. required.
• Background in transportation, trailer systems, or heavy equipment a bonus.
• Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) helpful.
• Experience supporting production transitions from design into manufacturing helpful.
• Knowledge of parametric design, material selection, and manufacturing processes helpful.
