ThermoAnalytics, Inc. (TAI), a leading provider of thermal and infrared simulation software and services, seeks an experienced Network Administrator to join their team in the Houghton, Michigan area. This is an onsite, in-office position.
As a member of our IT team, you play a key role in implementing and maintaining IT network systems to support product development of our best-in-class computer aided engineering (CAE) and computational fluid design (CFD) simulation software. WHAT WE OFFER.
- $60,000 – $80,000 annual starting pay based on your knowledge and experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead network design, implementation and management.
- Data center management including computer/network power, climate control, racking, cable management, lights-out management, and facility physical layout.
- Maintain/expand internal Network Infrastructure and computing/networking Power Infrastructure as needed.
- Work with various ISP agreements and configurations (ATT, VeloCloud, Spectrum, PFN).
- Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
- Install and configure computer network equipment including firewalls, routers, network switches, VPN devices, cabling (ethernet and telephone), wireless, phone systems, and other related network systems.
- Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.
- Evaluate and recommend security improvements and network upgrades.
- Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
- Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
- Create technical support documentation for networking systems and applications.
- Provide technical support to other employees as needed.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a technically related field.
- Minimum 2 years of system and network administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and monitoring/diagnostic tools.
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Good understanding of computer networks and associated hardware.
- Work well with both technical and non-technical staff members.
- Experience working with command-line interfaces of network equipment.
- Due to federal requirements for this position, applicants must be a United States citizen, or a lawful permanent resident of the United States. Final candidates may be required to undergo a thorough background check.
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS THAT PUT YOU OVER THE TOP
- Familiarity with pfSense routers, Cisco/Dell switches.
- Software-defined networking.
- Network certification such as Cisco CCNA, A+ CE, CND, Network+ CE or SSCP.
- Active Security Clearance.
