Hawthorne Vision Center is seeking a dedicated full-time Optometric Technician to join our team in Portland, OR. As an Optometric Technician, you will be responsible for preparing patients for their eye exams and performing diagnostic tests. You’ll play a key part in our commitment to treating every patient like family and maintaining a high standard of excellence in all aspects of care.

WHAT WE OFFER:

• Competitive wage of $17.00-$19.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Assist our optometrists in providing excellent care.
• Greet and prepare patients for their exam by gathering medical history, taking measurements, and conducting preliminary tests.
• Operate specialized equipment including OCT, retinal camera, and visual field-testing machines.
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation.
• Provide patients guidance on proper eyewear care and contact lens handling.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of professional ocular equipment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working in an optometric setting preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and self-motivation.
• While not mandatory, knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow procedures and operate diagnostic equipment.
