Hawthorne Vision Center is hiring an enthusiastic full-time Optometric Technician to join our close-knit team in Portland, OR. As an Optometric Technician, you will be responsible for preparing patients for their eye exams and performing diagnostic tests.

WHAT WE OFFER:

• Competitive wage of $17.00-$19.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Assist our optometrists in providing excellent care.
• Greet and prepare patients for their exam by gathering medical history, taking measurements, and conducting preliminary tests.
• Operate specialized equipment including OCT, retinal camera, and visual field-testing machines.
• Ensure accurate and thorough documentation.
• Provide patients guidance on proper eyewear care and contact lens handling.
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of professional ocular equipment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working in an optometric setting preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and self-motivation.
• While not mandatory, knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow procedures and operate diagnostic equipment.
