Shawsheen Coating & Converting Inc. seeks a bright, detail-oriented, and highly organized Quality Control Lab Technician to join their team in Andover, MA. The Quality Control Lab Technician will perform lab testing, floor inspections, and employee GMP training at the direction of the quality director. The successful candidate is comfortable working independently and has a solid understanding of the concept of quality control.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Retrieve samples from the factory.
• Lab testing.
• Perform & document all specified raw material, in-process, and finished goods tests.
• Report nonconforming test results to Supervisor and/or Director.
• Perform data entry of test results.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks to maintain cleanliness and organization of lab.
• Perform calibration or calibration verification of testing equipment.
• Assist Quality Supervisor in test evaluation of complaints.
• Complete projects as assigned by Supervisor and/or Director.
• Perform GMP floor inspections.
• Provide GMP training to employees.
• Write and update standard operating procedures under the direction of the Quality Director.
• Re-assignment to any other job or machine for which you have accepted and received training and for which you are being compensated.
• Follow all safety and environmental rules, requirements, and procedures.

SCHEDULE This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of prior Inspection experience preferred.
• Comfortable and able to work safely in a laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with analytical techniques and laboratory procedures.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours on occasion.
• Ability to use hands continuously to operate testing equipment and perform manual testing.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs to go from one floor to the other.
• Experience in the tape industry a plus.
