Shawsheen Coating and Converting is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Quality Control Lab Technician to join our team in Andover, MA.

As a Quality Control Lab Technician, you will perform routine laboratory testing, inspect materials and finished products, document results, and help ensure Shawsheen’s products meet established quality standards. You’ll work closely with the Quality Supervisor and other team members while helping maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect samples from the production floor for quality testing.
• Perform routine laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
• Accurately record, document, and enter testing results.
• Identify and report products or materials that do not meet quality standards.
• Assist with evaluating product quality concerns and customer complaints.
• Perform routine calibration checks on laboratory testing equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
• Follow established testing procedures, safety guidelines, and environmental requirements.
• Communicate testing results and quality concerns to the Quality Supervisor or Director.
• Assist with additional laboratory projects and quality-related tasks as needed.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Base pay of $20-$23 per hour, depending on experience.
• Additional 10% shift differential for working second shift.
• Total second-shift pay of $22-$25.30 per hour, including shift differential.
• Full-time, four-day workweek: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.
• Three-day weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of quality control, inspection, or related experience preferred.
• Experience working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory testing procedures and quality control practices preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results.
• Basic math and computer skills, including data entry.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work independently.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Willingness to work occasional flexible hours as needed.
• Experience in the tape, coating, or converting industry is a plus.

SCHEDULE & TRAINING

• Regular Second Shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. (four 10-hour shifts).
• Initial Training: May require approximately 45-60 days on first shift, Tuesday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., before transitioning to the regular second-shift schedule.
• Full-time, on-site position in Andover, MA.
