Eberle Eyecare is seeking an Optometric Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska.

No optometry experience? No problem! Training will be provided for the right person.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and being part of a patient-centered team. In this role, you will help support both the front desk and patient care areas of the practice. 

You may assist with patient check-in and scheduling, answer phone calls, update patient information, support billing and insurance tasks, prepare patients for exams, perform pre-testing, and assist with other clinical or optical support duties as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out.
• Answer phone calls and assist with scheduling, rescheduling, and patient questions.
• Update patient information and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with insurance information, billing support, and collecting payments.
• Help maintain a clean and welcoming front desk, waiting area, and exam space.
• Prepare patients for eye exams and record patient history.
• Perform pre-testing and diagnostic testing, such as autorefraction, visual fields, retinal imaging, and other standard testing.
• Maintain and sterilize instruments and exam rooms.
• Assist the doctor during exams as needed.
• Support patients with frame selection, lens options, eyewear fitting, adjustments, and repairs as needed.
• Help place and track optical orders and support inventory needs.
• Provide excellent patient service and help resolve patient questions or concerns.
• Support other team members with administrative, clinical, and optical tasks as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• Experience in customer service, reception, medical office support, optometry, optical, or patient care is preferred, but not required.
• Experience working as a Front Desk Receptionist, Medical Assistant, Optometric Technician, Optician, or Patient Care Coordinator is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing, or EHR systems is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Friendly, professional, and patient-centered attitude.
• Willingness to learn both front desk and back-office responsibilities.
• Must be dependable and able to work normal office hours, including Saturdays.

SCHEDULE.

• Summer Hours: Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am – 4:15 pm
• Winter Hours: Tuesday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
