The Copper Country Intermediate School District is hiring an Elementary Instructional Coach in Hancock, Michigan. This position will work directly with elementary teachers and paraprofessionals across our region. You’ll be a trusted partner—training, modeling, coaching, and collaborating to create the best learning environment possible for every student.

WHAT WE OFFER.
- $58,400 – $82,300 annual starting salary based on education and experience.
- Health insurance, or if no health insurance is needed—-we’ll pay you $661.84/month instead.
- Dental and vision insurance at no cost to the employee; CCISD pays 100% of premiums.

- Paid sick days (10) and paid personal days (4).

- Full-time school-year position with summers off. Some possible paid summer hours as needed.
- Interviews begin at the end of April, with a start date in August of 2026.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING.
- Coaching teachers and paraprofessionals on classroom management and behavior strategies.
- Helping implement behavior intervention plans that work in real classrooms.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, special education teachers, school administrators, and ISD staff to solve challenges creatively and compassionately.
- Modeling classroom techniques and supporting students directly when needed.
- Providing professional development and training sessions for teachers and paraprofessionals in evidence-based classroom management strategies.
- Keeping clear records and communicating regularly with stakeholders, including schools and families.
- Using data collection to inform decisions and document the effectiveness of interventions and behavior plans.
- Becoming an active team member of the CCISD Behavior Support Services team, Instructional Services team, and New Teacher Training team.
- Traveling to school sites within Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties to provide services.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Michigan Teaching Certificate along with 5 or more years of successful elementary general education classroom teaching experience, preferably across multiple grade levels.
- Experience with students who exhibit challenging social, emotional, and/or behavioral needs in the regular classroom setting.
- Strong background in Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
- Ability to use information from data collection in decision-making.
- Experience implementing Behavior Improvement Plans, including multi-faceted behavior interventions.
- Organized, collaborative, and an excellent communicator.
- Michigan driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to local schools, meetings, and conferences.
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- A master’s degree and background in special education.
- Experience supervising or mentoring new teachers.
- Understanding of behavioral characteristics typically associated with autism, emotional impairments, cognitive impairments, and similar needs. and behavior intervention strategies.
- Confidence in presenting to groups and using data to guide decisions.
