Signature Research, Inc.

Signature Research, Inc. (SGR) has an immediate opening for a full-time Computational Signature Engineer/Scientist to join their team in Navarre, Florida.

Want to work on engineering problems that are anything but ordinary? This position supports advanced defense and national security work involving physics-based signature prediction, with an emphasis on radar. You will use engineering, modeling, coding, and analysis skills to help predict, measure, and understand how targets and backgrounds appear across the electromagnetic spectrum. Translation: you help solve hard, highly technical problems that matter.

WHAT WE OFFER.

  • $95,000 – $110,000 annual starting wage based on your knowledge and experience.
  • Comprehensive health and benefit package in which company pays all base plan health insurance premiums; buy-up options available.
  • Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) Plan.
  • Paid vacation, sick time and holidays.
  • Full-time, Monday – Friday in-office position; remote work is not available.

WHAT YOU’LL DO.

You generate and validate surface and volume meshes from CAD geometry, run computational signature models, and compare predictions against real-world measured data. You work with EO/IR and RF signature tools, support radar and thermal/IR prediction efforts, and help turn complex modeling results into useful data products and technical reports. You also:

  • Build and improve CAD-to-mesh workflows for physics-based solvers.
  • Configure, run, and post-process computational models for radar, thermal/IR, and related signature prediction.
  • Use CFD to support flow, exhaust, plume, and aero-thermal signature modeling.
  • Write and modify software in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ to automate workflows and process data.
  • Use HPC clusters and GPUs to scale modeling runs.
  • Support measurement campaigns, data formatting, calibration, labeling, and analysis.
  • Document findings in technical reports and signature data products.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with mesh generation and CAD-to-mesh workflows.
  • A practical understanding of how mesh quality affects physics-based solver results.
  • Familiarity with at least one computational physics solver (such as electromagnetic, thermal, or fluid).
  • Programming experience in MATLAB and/or Python, plus the ability to read and modify C/C++.
  • Experience with RF signature tools (Xpatch or SENTRi), IR signature tools (MuSES), or CFD tools (Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or OpenFOAM) is a plus.
  • Experience with CUBIT, Rhinoceros 3D, SolidWorks, Blender, HPC systems, GPUs, DoD signature work, modeling, simulation, or test-and-evaluation is helpful.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain (and maintain) a security clearance. Don’t have clearance? No problem—we’ll help you through the process.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the United States is required. Field test and evaluation activities at remote ranges throughout the U.S. may require travel for periods of up to two weeks or more, occasionally with extended hours supporting classified work.
