Nylon Corporation of America (NYCOA) seeks a highly motivated Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to join their team in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technician will repair and maintain machinery and equipment to ensure continued operations of the plant and the ongoing success of the facility.

Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment and possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. We are willing to train the right entry level candidate!

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, mechanical seals, extruders, gearboxes, piping, conveyor systems, production machines and extrusion equipment using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
• Install new equipment independently or as directed with a team.
• Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts, using rigging equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
• Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of device is in control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plum bobs, and straightedges.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices using hand tools.
• Start devices to test their performance. Lubricate and clean parts.
• May set up and operate drill press, grinder, pipe threader, bandsaw and other metalworking tools to make/ repair parts.
• May initiate purchase order for parts in machines.
• May assist in the repair of electrical equipment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical or equivalent experience is required.
• Able to withstand constant standing and reaching along with continuous bending, squatting and walking; frequent kneeling, climbing, sitting; and use of fine motor skills.
• Able to lift 50 pounds; frequently lift and carry 25 pounds; work on ladders, staging or other related equipment; and work in confined spaces.
• Able to operate forklifts and assist electricians as needed.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, work well with others, and be team player.
• Computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail programs.
• Must use proper LO/TO procedures and wear PPE at all times. Qualified to wear a respirator without restriction.
