J. Peltier Construction has an immediate opening for a part-time Office Manager/Bookkeeper to join their team in Hancock, Michigan. If you are an experienced professional who enjoys a mix of office support, bookkeeping tasks, and making sure all the details are handled the right way, this may be a great fit for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO.

In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day office operations while helping keep financial and administrative processes accurate, timely, and organized. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll from start to finish (weekly) and ensuring payroll tax payments are made on time.
  • Tracking company assets, job costing, and cash flow, while preparing spreadsheets.
  • Paying bills and invoices, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.
  • Office duties such as typing, filing, answering phones, pickup/delivering mail.
  • Helping ensure expenditures align with purchases and company needs.
  • Maintaining office inventory, supplies, and materials.
  • Working with the company accountant on financials and reporting.

WHAT WE OFFER.

  • $25 – $30 per hour based on experience.

  • Enjoy the flexibility of a part-time, in-office schedule working 3 days each week for 18–24 hours. You can choose the weekday schedule that works best for you—Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday—within our core hours of 9am – 2pm. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR.

We’re seeking someone who is professional, organized, and comfortable balancing a variety of responsibilities in a busy construction office. Qualified candidates bring:

  • Previous experience as an office manager, administrative assistant, or in a similar office support role.
  • Experience processing payroll using QuickBooks is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required (along with Word and Outlook).
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A friendly and positive attitude, and you communicate in this same manner.
  • The ability to solve problems through effective communication and sound judgment.
  • A commitment to providing excellent service to both employees and customers.
