NYCOA is seeking an experienced and analytical Staff Accountant to join our team in Manchester, New Hampshire. Working directly with the Controller, you will own key parts of the month-end close, cost accounting, and financial reporting, and you will get hands-on experience helping us transition to a new ERP system. If you have a manufacturing accounting background and enjoy digging into financial data and partnering with production teams, this is a broad role with real visibility into how the plant runs.

What You Will Do

• Complete monthly financial closings, prepare financial statements, and perform account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Maintain accurate cost accounting information, monitor manufacturing variances, and investigate issues with production teams.
• Support daily accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and treasury.
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and support cash forecasting and special financial analyses.
• Help lead the transition from our legacy accounting platform to a new ERP system, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax filing preparation with outside CPA firms, manage borrowing-base reporting, and support lender and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, and coordinate the annual budgeting process with department leaders.
• Provide support across general accounting, credit and collections, and payroll functions as needed.

What We Are Looking For

Must have:

• 3 to 5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in cost accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and general accounting processes.
• Hands-on experience using ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with high integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work closely with the Controller, the accounting team, and production employees.

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• ERP implementation or system migration experience.
• Internal or external audit experience.
• Experience with Paychex Payroll.
