Eberle Eyecare is seeking an Optometric Technician/Optician to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. As an Optometric Technician/Optician, you play a critical part in ensuring exceptional patient care by assisting with pre-testing, exam support, and eyewear selection and fitting.

  • Starting wage of $17.00 – $23.00 based upon education and experience. A review will be completed after 30 days for a possible increase based upon performance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Greet patients and prepare them for eye exams.
  • Perform pre-testing and diagnostic tests (e.g., autorefraction, visual fields, retinal imaging).
  • Record patient history and enter data into electronic health records (EHR).
  • Maintain and sterilize instruments and exam rooms.
  • Help patients select frames and lenses that best fit their prescription, style, and lifestyle needs.
  • Educate patients on lens options (e.g., anti-reflective coatings, progressives, blue-light protection).
  • Take accurate measurements (PD, segment height, etc.) and adjust/fit eyewear.
  • Place and track optical orders, manage inventory, and handle frame repairs.
  • Ensure high patient satisfaction through follow-up and problem resolution.
  • Assist the doctor during exams as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • Experience working as an Optometric Technician or Optician is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in an optometry or medical office is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be dependable and able to work normal office hours including Saturdays.

SCHEDULE.

Summer Hours: Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am – 4:15 pm

Winter Hours: Tuesday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
